GENESIS

The school was established in 1994. The first Principal (I/C) was Shri R.R Yadav. He continued in the school from 14/06/1994 to 06/03/1998.

The first Chairman of KV, Khagaria was Mr. RAM LAKHAN PRASAD, DM. The school is always maintained par excellence in Academics as well as Music Art and other Co-curricular activities.

We are proud to be part of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan which is one of the premier organizations imparting quality education. I am proud of its significant growth and recognition of its contribution. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, since its inception, has been functioning with this perspective as its guiding principle for imparting a wholesome education to the child and has made its mark as one of the leading brands in school education. The K.V. teachers who are assigned this task have been adequately oriented about the broader purpose of pedagogy. Education is the backbone of a nation. Proper education can contribute to the creation of healthy minds and worthy citizens. If we want to survive and progress in this new world order, we have to enrich ourselves with adequate knowledge and skills. In India, we face a major challenge of preparing young minds for facing the challenges of the 21st Century and the best way to tide over this obstacle is by providing quality education to all. Human Resource Development for nation building can be achieved only through Public Instruction and Proper Education. I consider myself privileged to have such meritorious and outstanding team at KVS RO Patna and I wish to take this opportunity to appeal to all the employees of KVS Patna Region to work together in harmony for the betterment of our students.

In an age of faceless communication, exposure, exploration, interaction and learning through search engines, the purpose of education still stands perennially valid as that of bringing to fruition all the potential that is there within a human being. With knowledge super highways dotting and defining the landscape and terrain of today’s education, an attitude of inquiry, research, and questioning are key to a student’s engagement in the learning process. Prof. J Bronowski, the author of ‘Ascent of Man’ very pertinently states, “ It is important that students bring a certain irreverence to their studies: they are not here to worship what is known, but to question it” As a school, Kendriya vidyalaya, strives to inculcate the same ethos of inquiry to reinforce learning. At the same time its policies and programmes find an echo in the philosophy of J. Krishnmurthy which considers a school as “a place where one learns about the totality, the wholeness of life. Academic excellence is absolutely necessary, but a school includes much more than that. It is a place where both the teacher and the student explore, not only the outer world, the world of knowledge, but also their own thinking, their own behavior.” The National Curriculum Framework 2005 inter alia focuses on connecting knowledge to life outside the school, ensuring that learning shifts away from rotemethods, enriching curriculum so that it goes beyond textbooks, building commitment to democratic values of equality, justice, freedom, concern for others’ well being, secularism and respect for human dignity and rights. Learning and Knowledge focuses on children as active learners with primacy given to children’s experiences, their voices and their participation in the construction of knowledge. The KendiryaVidyalaya, Khagaria learning systems and programmes, pedagogical approaches and methodologies are mirrored in the National Curriculum Framework 2005 by laying stress on knowledge issues, concepts, attitudes, skills and action for future.
